Writing Guidelines
-
The personal narrative would provide the writers’ first-person experience and interactions in an educational setting or related to an educational topic. Narratives would include an introduction, a plot, characters (more than often including the author), a setting, a climax and a conclusion. The personal narrative should build to a climax or resolution of an educational or academically related problem (usually resulting in personal growth, perspective, and/or revelation for the author).
-
An analytical article is an essay that provides substantive analysis of an educationally related topic. This type of submission effectively lists an interesting question (introduction); a logical organization of the evidence used to answer the question (the body); and an answer or resolution to the matter (conclusion).
-
An opinion or (op-ed) should be about an educational current state of affairs, or an educationally related topic that the author feels is relevant and needs to be addressed. The opinion should explain or interpret the topic as well as either criticize, persuade or give praise.
